Time to proceed further and say Bye to the ‘City of Joy’. When BBD left Dover Park and was waiting for the Taxi to take me to Howrah – the Driver was kind enough to inform that NO TAXI TO HOWRAH today by any means. So, the next alternative was ferry from Babughat to Howrah to cross river Hooghly (Ganga). A long Q for ticket which costs INR 5 – but exact amount only. The babu will not budge. Thanks to the next man in the que BBD could get the ticket. Although BBD believes in ‘travel light’ – but winter season demands something more. So, BBD had to negotiate with the crowd and boarded the ferry . One of the fellow passenger was upset when he felt that the steamer, after leaving the jetty and sailing for nearly 5 minutes has come to the same place. He requested BBD to ascertain the reason. But factually, this was another harbour looking exactly like the earlier one . After a small chaos among the passengers for nearly 5 minutes, BBD safely landed to HOWRAH station where he has to negotiate the aam aadmi and realise the growing population and migration leading to affect the demography of mera Bharat mahaan. Ultimately, BBD was successful to occupy the seat and a fresh journey starts. First time to NE through surface transport . New experience. THANQ Kolkata for the wonderful taste of food, fun, sentiments and above all Culture. A fresh taste of Kolkata
